Spurs had an overall 33 per cent of possession with just 4 shots to Man City’s 22 shots but once again took home the three points against Pep Guardiola’s side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs took the lead inside 5 minutes with a goal from Heung-min Son following a chipping pass from Tanguy Ndombele to the edge of the box which he clinically tucked under Ederson.

City came back into the game with an equaliser after Gabriel Jesus found Aymeric Laporte inside the penalty area who took advantage of the situation to rifle a shot into the bottom corner.

Despite City mounting pressure on Spurs, Jose Mourinho’s tactics seemed to work completely with Harry Kane displaying another Man of the Match performance turning brilliantly on halfway and sending a pass to Giovanni Lo Celso to finish under Ederson again just 35 seconds after coming on in the 65th minute.

It was a remarkable one year anniversary gift for Jose Mourinho since taking over at Spurs to see his side win and go top of the table for at least the next 24 hours with upcoming games.
