Chelsea qualified for the semi-final of the Champions League for the first time since they last did in 2014 after beating FC Porto 2-1 on aggregate.

The Blues beat Porto 2-0 in the away game of the quarter-final which was played in Seville last week coming home with a two-goal lead although the home match was also staged at Seville on Tuesday night.

Tuchel’s men held the Portuguese side at bay over the course of the 90 minutes but their 2-0 away lead rendered Medi Taremi’s late goal irrelevant.

Chelsea will face winners of Liverpool vs Real Madrid with the Spanish side boasting a 3-1 lead after the first leg.

Tuchel said: “In general I like not to play against teams from your same league in the Champions League as it gives mpre of a feeling of a European competition but that is the only thing. The game is far from over but I will watch it for sure.

“Everything is possible. Liverpool are very strong at home so we take what we get. It is a good situation for us.”
