Of course the bill was not enacted without arguments and disagreements from the opposition NDC and the ruling NPP, however, at the end of the day they have come to consensus to pass this bill.Majority Leader and minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, had prior to the approval, applied to the Speaker to have the Memorandum to the Bill amended. The Deputy Attorney General Joseph Kpemka is happy about this bill.

Party militias have bedeviled the political landscape of Ghana’s politics considering the tragedy of Awayoso Wuogon by-election  and the like.

After these heinous and unthinkable activities of violence allegedly purported by the party militias, Ghanaians were yearning for something that could nail these untoward practices once and for all.

One expect that this bill will put an end to intra and inter parties violence and whoever found culpable of this bill will be made to face the full rigorous of the law without any hesitation to maintain and deepen Ghana’s peace and democracy. This will serve as a disincentive for such heinous party militias activities.
