The Wasa Amenfi East Municipal Environmental Health Officer,Mr.Alexander K.Damptey has said, the country Ghana would continue to suffer if illegal miners popularly known as galamsey operators doesn’t stop the destruction of our forest reserves and other water bodies.
Mr. Alexander Damptey made this comment when he met with some illegal miners (Galamsey operators) who are destroying the country’s forest reserves and water bodies at Wasa Mampong, Akatrika and Asesansu in the Amenfi East Municipality of the Western Region.
This warning was based on the second fight against illegal mining activities declared by His Excellency the President, Nana Akufo Addo. Mr.Alexander Damptey in his speech adviSed all galamsey operators to stop the destruction of our forest reserves, rivers and other water bodies across the nation if not the country would suffer in future.This what Mr.Alexander K.
