Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has insisted that his side are not looking to take revenge on Real Madrid as the two sides go head to head on Tuesday.
Liverpool lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in the 2018 Champions League final in Kiev where they lost their ace Mohamed Salah to a dislocated shoulder injùry following an collision with Sergio Ramos.
Ramos also elbowed Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius in the head which left the keeper concussed and Klopp furious at Ramos.
But the Real Madrid captain will miss both ties of this season’s Champions League clash with Liverpool due ot injury.
Klopp said: My motivation is on the highest level because it’s the Champions League, we play Real Madrid and we want to go to the next round.
‘It has nothing to do with 2018. You ask about revenge for 2018 or revenge for our not so good Premier League season?
‘We are not going for a revenge tour here. Life is like this. You try everything to win a game. You lose it. You meet the opponent again one day.
‘Sometimes it is close enough, like a week or two later. Then you can have these kinds of emotions in you. We are in the flow and we have to keep contact.’
